GENERAL TAX RETURN INFORMATION
Every year, hundreds of thousands people in the Czech Republic must do the Tax Return. The personal income tax is 15 percent of the tax base. Self-employed needs to fill out a tax return form in order to calculate the tax. However, they only fill out tax return form if their annual income exceeded CZK 15 000.
Employers pay this tax for their employees. However, if employee had other income (excluding employment) which has exceeded six thousand crowns, employee must also complete the tax return and pay the income tax.

For the tax yeat 2017 the tax return needs to be filled out and submitted by 3 April 2018. This deadline can be exceeded by five working days according to the Tax Code without penalty. If you submit the tax return later, you can probably expect a fine.
